Reading Your First Tarot Spread

Tarot does not predict a fixed future. It offers a mirror: a set of images that make your own situation legible to you.

Begin with three cards — past, present, and direction. Shuffle while holding one clear question in mind, then lay the cards left to right.

Read the images before the meanings. What is the figure looking at? Is the sky bright or heavy? Your first instinct is usually the reading.

Only then compare with traditional meanings. When instinct and tradition disagree, note the tension — that is where the real message usually lives.
